Yara Marine Technologies is staffing up to enable a greener maritime industry

Moving towards a broader portfolio of green technologies, Yara Marine Technologies onboards new key employees to the company.

Jon Olsen is new to the role as Director Strategic Business Development. Olsen has his background from the Wilhelmsen group working both operationally and with business development on a corporate level. For the last years, he worked with strategy and business development in Hydro.

– I truly believe in YMT’s strategic direction and want to be a part of that voyage. Finding technologies and solutions that enable a greener maritime industry has always been a favourite topic, Olsen says.

Stefan Petersson is appointed the new Head of Engineering. He left the role as Head of Project Management in Johnson Matthey and has broad experience from Operations and Manufacturing in large global companies within automotive and maritime sectors, including TTS and MacGregor.

– My expectation is a growing and dynamic company full of energy about the new and exciting products. I hope to contribute with pragmatic structure and perhaps new way of looking at the value flow and a clear ownership of deliveries, Petersson says.

Jonas Pedersen has joined R&D in the position as Senior Mechanical Analysis Engineer. Before onboarding Yara Marine Technologies, Pedersen has been working with strength calculations at MacGregor the last ten years.

Hetal Gustafsson recently started as IT Project Manager. Gustafsson is coming from Catepillar/ Berg Propulsion where she worked as IT Project Manager and Application Specialist for seven years.

Project manager in the CMA team Anton Gustafsson is starting a new role in the Complexed Case team.

Ulf Holmberg will take on the Role as Sales Manager Aftersales with focus on Service Agreements to provide top class predictive maintenance to our customers. Previously, Holmberg has been managing various projects such as cruise vessel new builds and retrofits, various bulk carrier retrofits and temporary container vessel new builds. Recently he has also been leading the MSC Containers claims task force for the Complex Case (Claims) Department.

Yara Marine Technologies recently announced that they are relaunching shore power to their green portfolio, collaborating with French NG3. Yara Marine Technologies is also working together with the Phoenician Energy on aluminium air batteries. The start-up company won the Yara Marine X accelerator programme earlier this year.
