We are now looking for a Market Intelligence Analyst who will strengthen our Sales & Marketing team.

Main responsibilities

The Market Intelligence Analyst is responsible for conducting market and business intelligence research for the Sales & Marketing team in accordance with priorities set together with Line Manager and Chief Sales Officer, including:

  • Oil/bunker fuel price and selected relevant commodity prices (i.e. steel)
  • Shipping market rates, newbuild and scrapping price indices
  • Performance and development in key shipping market segments (tank, container, bulk, cruise)
  • Company profiles and financials (customers, competitors etc.)
  • Relevant current environmental regulation and ongoing processes for future regulations
  • Fleet and vessel analysis
  • Structure and present information across the YMT organization and for customers and external parties, including:
  • Support in preparing content/presentations for customer meetings
  • Participate in relevant trade fairs, conferences etc., aligned with Marketing plans and strategies
  • Contribute to YMT Sales and Marketing strategies, create and implement strategies and activity plans within the defined sales responsibility
  • Identify and propose improvements within the Sales & Marketing area, participate in implementing required changes and improvements
  • Provide required data for customer database, sales statistics and company commercial and financial reporting, give input to Sales Statistics Database
  • Support execution of customer satisfaction surveys, evaluate, take relevant actions according to the survey result in order to improve

Background and skills

  • Master’s degree within relevant field
  • 1-3 years work experience in a similar position or recent graduates from university
  • Fluent in English, written and oral
  • Knowledge in one Scandinavian language
  • Other language skills are an advantage
  • The position requires flexibility to travel in order to participate in meetings and other activities
  • Established professional network in shipping and maritime sector is highly advantageous (ship-owners, operators, shipyards, ports, suppliers etc.)
